So that's how all those tomes (and other stuff) got into Pre-Searing!!! I knew about the GH glitch that was plugged over a year ago and I knew that some chars were still camped there and used it to smuggle stuff in. Personally, I don't have a problem with it. If I had had the game at the time I probably would have done the same thing.

But, this is just wrong!!! It's the equivalent of a hack. Sorry, but I've just lost all respect for those folks that are achieving both Survivor and LDoA if this is how they did it. (Or, bought the tomes off other people who did)

As far as I know Arena Net has been trying to do everything to prevent players from getting both Survivor and LDoA.

If they would make it so that once you get Survivor/LDoA you can't get LDoA/Survivor, even if you have both, one would disappear, then it will be all balanced again.

Even if Arena Net wanted you to have both titles it would be unfair towards players already having Survivor OR LDoA, which would cause a riot.

Not if you have a tome. I bet it would be enormously expensive to get one though. Its also not supposed to be possible to have Vampiric weapons in Pre but people still have them.

Tomes do not drop in pre-Searing.

And since they where added after fixing the 'go to guild hall' glitch, it means that anyone made any kind of evil cheat.

Ahh well that kills that idea. I dunno never actually tried it heh. I guess that leaves Drop of Fear's method with 2 accounts which I'll assume he uses the one account with LDOA already, lets some monsters keep killing that character, and maybe rez if he got a hard rez out of a tome. Then takes the 2nd account and kills those levelled up monsters? Damn that does sound slow.....

Because didnt they used to drop on purple weps?Silly update when factions came out made them drop on golds only

If that's the case, then Drop of Fear is using the exact method that I outlined in my original post. Only at the time that I posted it, I assumed that the only method of bringing tomes into pre was camped GH characters that had been camped there since the dawn of time (or at least since the exploit was open).

But, as HT Ingram pointed out, the tomes actually entered pre thru a mod hack. This should be unacceptable to all decent players. I really wish Arenanet would do a sweep and clean up pre.

- Remove all the tomes and other items that entered pre thru the hack.
- Remove the skills learned by the tome users.
- Close the PermaPre kidnapping exploit (other thread)

Drop of Fear seemed to imply in his post that he was using an entirely different method to achieve both titles. I hope that is the case and if so, I wish him well. If he's just using the hack or bought a tome from a hacker then I have no respect for his accomplishment.

just to stand that i completely guarantee that i've nothing to do with bringing tomes in pre. i dont even have the amount of time needed to keep rezzing the poor saccer. and i seriously hope a.net finds a way to ban for good anyone who achieves survivor in presearing using 1 monk tome / or worse, multiple tomes.
my worst gw fear is that someoe actualy gets survivor and ldoa with the hackmod and soon after exit presearing, escaping a.net ban.

Although I'm sure it is one of the few if not the only way, I doubt ANet would make LDOA only attaniable by going afk for 10 hours and having charr level on you than killing them...is that semi-farming? If there's another way though, it can't be easy.

As of now, the only way to get to level 20 in Pre is through death leveling. If there was another, more reasonable way, I'm sure it would be widely known by now. That and the majority of the people who've already obtained the title would be complaining like there's no tomorrow.

Anet has the tendancy to remove any glitches that chatch theyr attention without punishijng the people using those same glitches. This way they're saying:Hey, if you find a glitch before we do and make tons of gold from this, it's ok.
This means that people keep searching for new glitches and keep finding them because they know Anet won't punish them. The thing with the tomes in presearing is just 1 example..next time itmight aswell involve a glitch involving max armor in presearing and Anet will reward anyone who finds such a glitch before they do.

The only way to fix these glitches in presearing forever is by either deleting or sending to post any character that owns post skills or has tomes in theyr inventory and furthermore do the same with anyone who possesses any post items.

The tomes in pre situation also proves that letting poeple keep their expert salvages, vamp items and other post stuff in pre was a mistake, it encourages poeplke to keep finding and using glitches right untill the end of guildwars. These glitches are exploited for gaining gold and much of this gold is being sold for real world cash..I realy can't understand why Anet lets these people get away with this every single time!

I might aswell try to find a legitimate way to make someone else trade me, trade all theyr stuff to me in a way that wasn't intended (meaning I can rob anyonces accounts clean legitimally)and they'll respond that I may keep all the stuff I trdaed from other poeple becasue I used a legitimate cheat..I mean legitimate mechanism (i.e. trading myself)to trade these items to myself.
With the way things are going this would actually be allowed by Anet as long as the mistake is caused by something that ANet did wrong. As long as I can keep finding new exploits and can keep exploiting them I won't ever be punished for them, not even if I ruin someone elses gameplay due to such an exploit because thei'll consider that I did it legitimately.

They should've deleted all the gold items and other post items right from the start but they decided not to, becasue those post items in pre had been traded legitimately from characters that kept visiting their guildhalls using an exploit that Anet did fix.

People using these exploits have made MILLIONS of gold because of these glitches..even sold gold made in this manner for real world US dollars...and Anet will keep letting them do so...if you find a glitch before Anet does..you're home free!!

yeah, if you altf4 in the mission leading to postsear wouldnt it take you mack to presear? and even if you just appear in the mission area, couldnt you jsut map out before the timer reaches 0?

You have the LDOA death level and you res him repeatedly. Same way you death lvl a pet.
